Writing a novel isn’t easy. That was the first lesson I learned years ago when I sat down to write my first novel. There are about a hundred more steps in the process than I thought and I discovered that at any given moment, there are a dozen things I should be thinking about. Whether you’re tackling your first or hundredth novel, we can always be learning and growing in the craft. As I, myself, become a better writer, I wanted to share the tips and craft knowledge I’ve picked up over the years.
My hope is that this collection of information on becoming a better writer inspires you to believe that this is something you can do, and do well. Nothing is as exhilarating as creating a story, full of characters you’ve turned into real people that jump off the page. If you feel this exhilaration, you are a writer. And like all pursuits for something we’re passionate about, there’s great benefit to learning and growing in the craft. Which is why I’ve provided posts to help you develop your writing talent, practical tips, posts to motivate you during slumps, lessons learned from my personal writing journey, and more.
